At EXPO 2000 itself, the "Association of Friends of the Youth Initiative EXPO 2000 e.V." took over the on-site organization of the youth initiative EXPO 2000, whose task was to invite young people from all participating countries to the world exhibition in Germany and Hanover and to look after them. A great success, with numerous lasting contacts and friendships. In addition, he promoted the “cultural kaleidoscope”, which organized art and culture in Germany and the regions, opened up new, spectacular venues and offered it to guests and residents alike.
The patron of the association was the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Germany, Christina Rau (wife of the Federal President Johannes Rau 1999 to 2004)
Responsibility
Welcoming foreign young people who came to Berlin from all parts of Germany, picked up from the Berlin train stations and welcomed to the service point. Contact person for all questions about the cultural program prepared for the youth in Berlin as well as all important information materials about the history and development of the city of Berlin.
